Wendy Mattias
Wendy and her husband moved to the Three Points Community in June of 2002, and make their home in Diamond Bell Ranch. Wendy earned a BS in Elementary Education and History, and a Master’s Degree in Multicultural Education. She is a 4th generation teacher that is completing her 33rd year in the classroom. Currently she teaches 7th and 8th grade Social Studies and 6,7, and 8th grade EL at the local Altar Valley Middle School, where she has taught for 21 years. In addition to working with her students, she is the Student Council advisor, the AVMS Site Council, and a member of the Superintendents Advisory Council.. She is a friendly and familiar face around the community also serving on her church board of directors. Every year she appears in costume, volunteering as Mrs. Claus during the holidays. Wendy and her family enjoy their animals, working in the yard, camping, and visiting family and friends. She is a firm believer in the importance of serving and giving back to her community. As such, she has served on the Three Points Fire Board for 13 years. Serving on the Board has allowed her to meet and work with great people who are also committed to the Three Points Community. She states that this experience has expanded her knowledge and understanding of fire issues and the needs in our community.
